Summer 2025
Pastel Meadow Weave
This textile piece was created as an experiment in combining soft fibers and felt textures. Drawing from my previous experience with felt, I explored color, structure, and contrasts through recycled materials. I selected a palette inspired by pastel and vivid floral hues, and hand-blended the felt by brushing, needle-felting, and cutting it into smaller sections to achieve a bold mix of tones.
For the base, I crocheted a long strip using chunky cotton and wool yarn, then stitched it into an oval form to create a cohesive foundation. The layers and handmade felt roses were arranged and secured to build a textured surface, a fun experimentation of creating a color pallet and seeing it come to life through different surface textiles and embellishments.
