Trashion Show

For North Carolina’s annual Recycled “Trashion” Show, I designed and constructed a two-piece look featuring a corset top and collaged skirt made entirely from recycled and repurposed materials. I collected discarded materials from NC State, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Duke’s campuses to blend unconventional elements such as soda tabs, plastic bottle caps, and printed packaging. Each piece was carefully sewn together to tell a story, arranged so that every element remained visible, such as layering bags on top of one another and incorporating the straps as design features. The final look celebrates sustainability through innovation, creating wearable art.
