Celestia Flora
In Celestial Flora, I explored the connection between nature and textiles by creating a vibrant cape inspired by leaves and floral textures. I began by studying playful and intricate textile designs at the Gregg Museum inspired through energetic energy, followed by observing nature for leaf and plant forms that mimicked textile qualities. Using those observations, I developed embroidered textile samples, hand-drawn sketches, and muslin prototypes. I painted fabric using paint sticks to create bold, colorful leaves and then hand-stitched each component. My final piece combines these individually crafted leaves into a cohesive wearable art piece.
