Celestia Flora
Celestial Flora explores the relationship between nature and textiles through a vibrant, leaf-inspired cape. I began by studying playful and intricate textile designs at the Gregg Museum that represented energy and movement, then observed natural forms mimicking the textile textures, such as leaves and plants. I was particularly inspired by the bold color transitions of autumn leaves and the way light transforms their surfaces. To bring this vision to life, I developed embroidered textile samples, hand-drawn sketches, and muslin prototypes. I painted fabrics with paint sticks to create vivid leaf motifs, hand-stitching each component together.
